Danse Sans Frontières is a platform that brings together choreographers, dancers, and communities to connect through the transformative power of dance. We foster freedom, inclusion, and shared creativity by developing collaborative dance projects and workshops around the world. From street performances to international residencies, our work crosses borders: geographic, cultural, and social, to celebrate dance as a universal language.

Projects Lab

I U M I

Matilda Bilberg & Jenna Hendry

In November 2023, Matilda Bilberg (SE) and Jenna Hendry (CH) led a two-week Workshop LAB with local dancers at CCFM in Maputo, Mozambique. Rooted in their piece IUMI, the LAB explored intimacy through touch, listening, and improvisation, asking: “What information do we transmit through the touch of our hands?” The exchange highlighted how the body itself becomes a space of understanding across languages and contexts. Participants received the work with curiosity and openness, creating a collaborative atmosphere that extended beyond the final sharing.

Afrocubanismo (2026)

Rosario Cardenas, Idio Chichava & Horacio Macuacua

This two-week laboratory in Havana brings together local and international dancers to explore the deep connections between Afro-Cuban and Mozambican dance traditions. Rooted in shared African heritage, the project celebrates dance and music as vital forms of community and expression. Guided by renowned choreographers Horacio Macuacua, Idio Chichava, and Rosario Cardenas, the workshop offers a journey between traditional practices and their contemporary aesthetic forms. It fosters artistic exchange across cultures, aiming to build bridges, inspire collaboration, and nurture a shared sense of humanity.
